If you think you need more help with your job search? Just Read on.
I am thinking sure you do. Everyone who is either under employed or unemployed needs all the help they can get.
Is this Blog or the internet all the help that is out there?
Of course not!
In addition to Blogs and other sites like this one there are the local classified ads, your current network of friends and relatives as well as sometimes a referral from your former job. You might even check the bulletin board at your local grocery store for job offers.
When I took my first job after finishing school and going on my own it was explained to me in the interview that it was temporary job situation and would only last about six months.
Well sure enough when six months had rolled around I was brought into the manager’s office and told the bad news.
However at the end of the interview he told me he had made a deal with the local Chevrolet dealer and they would be willing to give me a better job than the current one I was now doing.
So I went directly from my firing interview to the Chevrolet dealer and was put to work the following morning at about twice the pay I was getting at the old job.
So it does happen, you just have to think positive.
My step son was out of work years ago and his brother-in-law gave him a recommendation at the local Mobil refinery and now after roughly thirty something years he is now considering retirement in a few short years.
So you never know what is coming next but just to be safe keep all of your options open.
Now the truth is most people are laid off due to economic reasons at the company they were working for.
Either sales or below expectations or expenses are up. Either way the work force has to be cut back so the company can stay in business.
Many companies are now finding that even with a skinny work force they are still able to keep up with the work load by insisting the workers do the work of three or more people.
And beleave it or not, it is working, because a lot of large corporations are now making record profits with the smaller work force.
Is this fair? Of course not but it makes sense as long as they can get by with doing it this way.
However a lot of companies or now starting to look for more help with the increase demands placed on their workers. This includes the extra work put on the high end managers that make these kinds of decisions. So don’t loose heart there is a better future coming soon.
New industries are starting every day and that is where most of the new jobs will be coming from.
There is the Green Power industry as well as all of the new technological things that are happening at a whirlwind pace.
I read where fifteen percent of the public now has an I-Pad and that only took one year to happen. They said in the same article that it took fifteen years for Color TV to catch on and have that big of an impact on the country.
Right now Washington has to get it’s act together to get past the budget crisis and once that is done then a bright future is in the making.
The main thing to remember is look to your friends, former work buddies and relatives in addition to all of the normal ways of finding employment.
Insodently I ran across another place on the internet that has a good number of great employment opportunities available. It is www.aarp.org/work/job-hunting
Be sure and look at my previous post below for the other four opportunities as well.
Thank you,
