When You Have A Job Interview You Must Make A Great First Impression

Job Interviews are critical to getting hired so why not give yourself the very best possible chance of landing the job of your dreams.

I have often seen different articles mention the fact over the years that people are sized up subconsciously by the other party during the first seven seconds you meet.

We do not even notice most of the time that we are doing this. As it is just a built in response that is probably a hold over from our caveman days of old.

Being aware so that you don't fall victim to some evil person is most likely built into our thinking.

It is actually a really good thing as this subconscious thinking might well save your life out on the street some day.

But this being the case you have to realize that when you go into an interview the interviewer is sizing you up just like you are doing him or her in the first seven seconds while you are saying hello and shaking hands.

Do you even know the very first thing the interviewer is going to notice about you?

Well guess what?

The very first thing you will always notice about any person in a face to face meeting is their shoes.

I don't know why this is the case but it is a well know fact.

If the person you are meeting has shoes that are all scraped up, dirty and not shined, you will feel subconsciously that the person is not very well organized.

So that being the case you would also feel that the person is not very professional and is not really someone you want to depend on.

So people with UN-shined dirty shoes go in with one strike against them before they even get to extend their hand in friendship.

Guess what the second thing they will notice about you?

If you said having clean hands and finger nails, you would be right.

While all of this is going on they will also notice any odor about you. So pay attention to your aftershave or the perfume you are wearing and make sure it is not too over powering.

You obviously have to pay attention to your clothing as well.

So be sure and dress accordingly.

Be aware of whatever dress code is acceptable, at the place of business that you are applying for a job.

Make sure your personal hygiene is up to speed as well as your appearance.

So be sure and bathe, shave or put on makeup and brush your teeth, in order to impress the interviewer with your smile and outgoing personality.

Does doing all of these things guarantee you will get the job?

Of course not, but it will guarantee that you get to do the interview with the best possible chance of being hired.

Even if you are not selected you might be referred to a different position with a different company as this does happen to some outstanding applicants from time to time.

So once again Good Luck with your job hunt and look through some of the previous post for the links to all of the jobs available throughout the country.
